Why am I there in social media!!

On 27th November 2023 I wrote something on FB as a comment which I do not do normally.I reserve such things to my blog site www.balaprasad.com Since it is a long comment and for wider audience I thought of posting it separately here.(It is written based on the feedback of some of my friends in FB)

Normally I don’t reply to comments or postings on personal level.Today I am deviating from that policy because of two reasons.

1.I take the said post at a personal level as same thing was told to me personally many times.

2. I have been in the social media for more than a decade and use it for mentoring many who follows me..But many may not have understood or rather misunderstood the objectives of my postings.(I do not post something to get some likes or get some positive comments)

So I thought of a response as the said post suggested “shutting up” by me. (I could have very well ignored it and moved forward.).Now coming to the point:

(Your friends are your area of influence. You try to bring to their attention, scientific/ technological/socially relevant articles which contain topics of your interest . So that your friends can read it and can discuss ideas . Everything around us need not be opinionated. Somethings are to improve our knowledge or social / scientific awareness. So we need not be judging others all the time . Those who want to express or paraphrase the ideas are free to do it . While others who enjoy the articles for its intellectual content without expressing their opinions have full freedom to do it . Complete freedom of expression or non – expression of one’s opinions. In freedom of expression and opinions- which include the right to seek, receive and impart information and ideas of all kinds . Re posting someone’s quote is for people who are not aware of such things and it helps people realize things and dwell more on it.

Moreover, . requoting someone doesn’t mean that we are quiet, it just means that their thought resonates with us, and they have a better way with words than us.I have written about in detail in earlier blog post my blog (Hope you will take out to read it also !!!)

Also we are not quoting people which are branded by society it’s not because they are popular in facebook or Instagram etc. . If that is the case, no one should quote anything from great thinkers

(So I am not going to shut up as suggested!!)
